Troubleshooting data discrepancies

Last updated: November 2025

Applies to: Paid VoteAmerica Plus customers

Summary

If your export data does not match the totals in your VoteAmerica dashboard, the difference is usually related to account status, timing, or user duplication.

Common reasons for discrepancies

  1. Account tier differences

Only paid accounts collect individual-level data. Any actions completed during a free period are not included in exports.

  2. Timing of updates

Exports and dashboards update periodically. If you export immediately after new activity, the counts may not yet match.

  3. Duplicate users

Voters may appear multiple times if they used more than one tool or completed multiple actions.

  4. Data filters

Check whether filters such as date range or tool type are applied in your export view.

How to confirm your data

  • Check the "Last updated" timestamp at the top of your homepage.
  • Wait at least one hour after peak activity before downloading a new export.
  • Compare by date and tool type.
  • Contact support if totals remain inconsistent.
